Pre-appointment Instructions for Patients

We are pleased to provide you with a dental appointment during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our team has been working hard to educate ourselves on new infection control guidelines as mandated by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Government of Ontario. We have put an enormous amount of consideration into implementation of our new protocols while, as always, maintaining strict adherence to previous infection control measures under Public Health Ontario.

Under the new protocols, patients play an active role in infection prevention. The following information will help you understand what to expect when you arrive at our office and also to outline what actions we need you to take to make our environment safe for yourselves, our team and the community at large.

  • Our team screens daily for Covid-19 and we have our temperatures taken. A temperature above 38 degrees or a positive Covid-19 screen will prompt that employee to return home before any patients are seen.

  • All clinical staff will be wearing masks at all times.

  • We recommend you bring a mask with you. If you have none, we can provide one.

  • You will be provided with hand sanitizer and then screened for temperature and Covid-19. If you screen positive for either, you will be asked to return home for further instructions.

  • Practice proper coughing etiquette in the office. Coughing etiquette is described here: Public Health Ontario Cough Etiquette

  • We recommend you keep your mask on at all times except when receiving treatment. When your mask is off, limit talking to essential statements only.

  • You may pass our screening test if you are asymptomatic at the time.  Please contact the office if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 within 14 days after your appointment so we may notify the people who were working on the day of your appointment.
